AM1 - Print Jobs Delay

Incident Report for BarTender Cloud Status Page

Postmortem

AM1 – Print Jobs Delay
Environment: AM1
Date: October 22, 2025 — 11:00 PDT to 12:51 PDT

Summary
We identified an issue where a subset of users experienced delays with print jobs remaining in a queued state. The issue did not impact all users or the overall system availability.

What Happened
A configuration in our message bus service was limiting message delivery for payloads larger than 16 MB. As a result, affected print jobs were unable to process successfully.

Resolution
Our engineering team updated the configuration and redeployed the affected service. Message flow resumed immediately after the restart, and all queued print jobs were processed as expected.

Timeline

  • 11:00 AM PST: Issue detected — print jobs queuing for some users.
  • 12:51 PM PST: Message bus configuration updated and services redeployed.
  • Post-deployment: Normal message delivery and print job processing restored.

Current Status
All systems are operating normally. We are continuing to monitor performance to ensure stability.

Next Steps
Additional safeguards are being implemented to prevent similar message size constraints in the future.
